The internet infrastructure company "Cloudflare" experienced a sudden outage that impacted several websites, including the platforms "X" and "Facebook."

The outage-monitoring site "Downdetector" recorded thousands of reports regarding service issues after 11:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The company issued a statement confirming that it was aware of the issue and investigating it, noting that the outage could affect a number of its clients.

In a later update after 12:00 GMT, the company confirmed that it was still investigating the problem.

This follows an outage last month affecting "Amazon Web Services," which caused more than a thousand websites and applications to go offline, and later impacted another major internet service, "Microsoft Azure."

Some experts indicate that such incidents highlight the fragility of the modern internet, and how failures in a few key companies can have widespread effects.

Cloudflare added that further details would be provided once more information about the cause and impact of the outage becomes available.
