Earlier, police had reported nine injuries, with ages ranging from 20 to 75, while a critically injured person was a 54-year-old man
Authorities added that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the crash
Police noted that the 27-year-old driver had collided with another car on the track before driving into the fence
The Walcha Council posted a statement on the rally’s Facebook page expressing that it was shocked and stunned by the unfortunate accident and that it would work with authorities to examine the circumstances that led to the incident
The council added that making any statements before the inquiry is concluded would be inappropriate
