Famed singer Adele is set to move from the music world to the big screen with her first acting role in the upcoming film by former designer Tom Ford

She will appear alongside a group of major stars, including Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, and Owen Cooper

Ford will direct, produce, and write the screenplay, though details about the roles Adele and the rest of the cast will play have not yet been revealed

It is worth noting that Adele, one of Britain’s most popular music stars, released her last album four years ago and has largely stayed out of the spotlight since ending her Las Vegas residency a year ago

She said she had planned to take "a long break" after last year’s live shows and wanted to "explore other creative pursuits for a while
