• Tragic fall claims life of teen during rooftop photography
• Rescue attempts failed and family left in shock

A 19-year-old Indian teen visiting Dubai on a tourist visa died after falling from the top of a building in the Deira area.

Family friend Haneefa K.K. said the victim, Mohammed Mishal, was from Kozhikode district in Kerala and had traveled to Dubai to spend time with his cousins, while his parents remained in Kozhikode.

“The tragic incident happened on Friday evening. Mishal had been in Dubai for about 15 days,” Haneefa added.

Reports indicate that on the day of the incident, Mishal went to the terrace of a multi-storey building to photograph airplanes, as he was passionate about photography.

Haneefa explained, “Due to the proximity of the airport, he was trying to get a close-up shot, but his foot got caught between two pipes, causing him to lose balance and fall to the ground.”

He was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately, but doctors were unable to save his life.

Haneefa described Mishal as “a talented young man with an entrepreneurial mindset,” adding, “His father runs a restaurant in Kozhikode. The family is in deep shock, as he was their only son. Mishal was studying for a diploma in civil engineering at a college in Kozhikode and had been discussing plans for a business venture in Dubai. Despite his young age, he was extremely ambitious.”

Haneefa concluded, “It’s a tragic loss. We are currently completing the legal procedures and hope to repatriate his body soon.”
