The attack involved individuals aged between 17 and 52 of Turkish descent, using kebab shop utensils, metal poles, and a walking stick, according to CCTV footage presented in court
The court heard that each family owned a kebab restaurant in the city. The fight began after a member of the Sayak family attacked a member of the Aksoy family outside the restaurant, quickly escalating into a violent struggle outside and on the ground, with other family members joining in wielding various weapons
Judge Richard Kember described the incident during sentencing as a disgraceful outbreak of violence and disorder
The clash resulted in multiple injuries, with some participants suffering deep cuts and others using their shirts as makeshift bandages, while police found some victims with serious head and arm injuries upon arrival at the scene
