Hawaii Volcano Eruption Goes Viral on Social Media… Lava Reaches 400 Meters – Video

On Monday morning, Hawaii’s Big Island witnessed a new eruption of Kīlauea Volcano, with massive columns of lava rising from its crater. Scientists explained that this volcanic activity is a continuation of the ongoing eruptions since last December, with magma continuing to flow along the same path to the surface. Kīlauea is considered one of the most active volcanoes in the world, having recorded 36 eruptions in the past year alone.
The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed that the ejected lava reached a height of nearly 400 meters, taller than New York’s Empire State Building. Despite the potential destruction caused by the lava, experts noted that these volcanic rocks serve as a natural material that solidifies to form the foundation of Hawaii and shape its terrain.
Pre-Main Eruption Phase
Scientists explained that the current eruption remains in the pre-main eruption phase within Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, with lava continuing to flow from the northern vent over the past 24 hours. The observatory also noted that volcanic emissions are accompanied by reduced gas levels, indicating that the rising magma is currently low in gases.
Researchers observed minimal surface deformation of the volcano over the past day, prompting them to extend eruption forecasts by an additional day, expecting high lava fountains to begin anytime between now and November 12.
Lava Dominates the Scene
Meanwhile, social media platforms have been flooded with videos showing the spectacular rise of lava, generating widespread reactions from users who shared images and footage, captivated by the simultaneously breathtaking and terrifying scene.
Scientists continue to closely monitor Kīlauea’s activity to ensure the safety of residents and visitors, while studying the ongoing volcanic phenomena that remain one of Hawaii’s most unique natural landmarks.
