A Tudor-style house that was the childhood home of U.S. President Donald Trump, where he lived between the ages of two and four, is now on the market in the upscale Jamaica Estates neighborhood in Queens for 2.3 million dollars

It was the family’s first residence before moving to a larger one nearby, consisting of five bedrooms and built in 1940 by his father Fred Trump

In recent years, the house suffered neglect, as broken pipes caused mold to develop inside

The property was sold last February for 835 thousand dollars to developer Tommy Lin, who undertook a full renovation over eight months, preserving the original brick and stucco façade while rebuilding nearly everything inside

Lin said, There was no water or electricity; it was uninhabitable

He added that the purchase was not politically motivated, but relied on the home’s family history and its location in a prestigious neighborhood to attract buyers

Jamaica Estates is considered one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Queens, where home prices often exceed 3 million dollars

Real estate agent Jevon Gratineau said homes under one million dollars have become rare

This is not the first time the property has attracted investment interest. On the night of the 2016 presidential election, investor Michael Davis bought the house for 1.39 million dollars just hours before the final results, betting that its value would rise if Trump won. He was correct, selling it later on Inauguration Day 2017 for 2.14 million dollars to a buyer from China

After that, Davis temporarily rented it out, but the arrangement ended after it was handed over to Oxfam during the United Nations meetings, and the house became abandoned, with mold spreading inside and stray animals taking over

Lin estimated renovation costs at about 500 thousand dollars, bringing his total investment to over 1.3 million dollars

The house spans about 2,500 square feet above ground, plus nearly 1,000 square feet in the basement, spread over four levels
