Jordan in Group B and Faces Iraq in Friendlies

The Jordanian national U-14 women’s team has begun an intensive series of physical and technical training sessions in preparation for upcoming competitions, most notably the 3rd West Asia Championship for promising young players.

These preparations coincide with the announcement of the tournament draw, which placed the "Nashmiat" in a balanced group alongside Lebanon and Bahrain.

The training sessions, held daily at the Jordan Football Association fields in Prince Hussein Youth City, are supervised by national coach Luna Al-Masri. The focus is on improving the players’ physical readiness and tactical cohesion ahead of their participation in the tournament, which will be hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 5 to 13.

Squad and Friendlies Against Iraq

All players included in the preliminary list, comprising 26 girls born in 2011, 2012, and 2013, are participating in the camp following extensive monitoring and technical evaluations over the past period.

The squad includes: Alma Shatat, Yafa Fayed, Tia Adhila, Zeina Malhas, Gia Swalha, Lin Al-Qaisi, Lin Sober, Tolin Obeidat, Lin Abdulrahman, Lia Marar, Taya Al-Khadra, Maria Al-Mousa, Yana Dweik, Hala Abu Jafar, Zeina Al-Sharouf, Sadan Abdulrahman, Raghad Haqrous, Jud Artima, Yasmin Madadha, Daad Sharab, Zain Al-Bataineh, Noor Al-Awadh, Jud Dawood, Lian Al-Mghasaleh, Bisan Masoud, and Teema Ja’ara.

To enhance match readiness, the team will play two friendly matches against Iraq’s U-14 women’s team on November 14 and 16 at 4:00 PM at the Jordan Football Association fields in Prince Hussein Youth City. These games provide the coaching staff with a valuable opportunity to finalize tactics and lineups before the official competitions.

Draw Sets the Path to the Final

The tournament draw, held on Thursday, featured six national teams: Jordan, Iraq, Bahrain, Lebanon, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia. The teams were divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Saudi Arabia (hosts), Palestine, Iraq
  • Group B: Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain

According to the tournament format, the first round will be a single-stage league, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals, followed by a knockout stage to determine the champion.

Jordan will open its campaign against Bahrain on Sunday, December 7, and face Lebanon on Tuesday, December 9.

The Jordanian team enters the competition as the reigning champion of the inaugural edition held in Beirut in 2022, positioning them as strong contenders to reclaim the title and further elevate the status of women’s football in Jordan at the regional level.
