Victims of fraud and account theft
In an official statement, the unit confirmed that complaints are still coming in from citizens who have fallen victim to fraud or account theft as a result of interacting with these links, which often suggest opportunities to win prizes, shopping vouchers, or financial aid, but in reality, serve as tools for online scams.
The unit called on everyone to be cautious, avoid clicking on any unknown links, and never send personal data or banking credentials online under any circumstances, in order to protect personal accounts and financial wallets from theft.
Citizens continue to file reports against hackers, intruders, and lawbreakers, leaving many as victims of these cybercriminals.
