A widely shared video on social media has stirred feelings of sorrow and fear, capturing the rescue teams’ communication with a girl trapped under the rubble of a seven-story building in the Turkish city of Kabza, in a tragic incident that terrified local residents.

Local reports stated that the girl, named Delara, is 18 years old and was the sole survivor after rescue teams managed to pull her out and transport her to the hospital in good health, while the building collapse claimed the lives of all other members of her family.

"I Can Hear"

The video shows civil protection officers shouting and calling out to anyone still alive under the debris, asking them to respond if they can hear or to make any sound by tapping objects around them to indicate their location. In a highly emotional moment, the girl responded, saying, "I can hear… I can hear," followed by cries mixed with sobs, revealing the immense fear and shock she experienced while trapped under the rubble amid dust and darkness.

Deputy Turkish Interior Minister Mohammed Aktas explained that the collapse resulted in the deaths of four out of five family members, confirming that Delara, the eldest daughter, survived, while the father, mother, and two children lost their lives.

Aktas added that search and rescue operations lasted approximately 19 hours, involving 913 personnel, including 628 specialized rescuers, 161 rescue vehicles, six dogs, 10 sensors under the rubble, and sound-detection devices, all aimed at locating any other potential survivors.
