"I’m Excited"… American Actor Announces Kidney Donation to a Stranger

"Jesse Eisenberg Has Always Been a Blood Donor" Jesse Eisenberg: "I Will Undergo the Donation Surgery in Six Weeks"
The well-known American actor Jesse Eisenberg revealed his intention to donate one of his kidneys to a stranger, in a humanitarian initiative he described as “a natural thing to do.”
In an interview with "Today" channel, the network noted that Eisenberg has always been a blood donor, but this time he is taking his generosity to another level by offering a more significant donation to someone in need.
The 42-year-old actor confirmed that he will undergo the donation procedure in about six weeks, explaining that his motivation stems from a sense of selflessness and a desire to make a direct humanitarian impact. He added: "I don’t know the exact reason, but it seems I’ve developed an obsession with donating, and I will do it in mid-December. I’m very excited about this step."
"Altruistic Donation"
Kidney donation to an unknown recipient is known as an “altruistic donation”, where a person gives one kidney to someone suffering from severe kidney disease, without any prior personal connection, according to RWJ Barnabas Health. Eisenberg emphasized that the procedure is safe and risk-free, encouraging those able and willing to consider taking a similar step.
A report from the Health Resources and Services Administration indicates a severe shortage of organ donors in the United States, with approximately 90,000 people on the kidney transplant waiting list since September 2024.
It is worth noting that Eisenberg gained widespread fame through his roles in "The Social Network" and "Now You See Me", and continues to be recognized for his humanitarian initiatives alongside his acting career.
