Social media erupted on Thursday following a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in the Al-Qweira area of Aqaba, with users sharing prayers for the safety and speedy recovery of those affected.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that rescue and ambulance teams from Aqaba Civil Defense and the police responded immediately to the incident. He added that the collision resulted in 21 people sustaining various bruises, noting that their overall condition is stable.

The spokesperson confirmed that the medical teams provided initial first aid to the injured before transferring them to the Al-Qweira Government Medical Center for treatment and further care.

He also noted that traffic investigations into the accident will begin soon to determine the exact causes of the collision and assign responsibility, amid public concern over the recurring road accidents.
