Important for Jordanians: Government Decision to Take Effect on Sunday

The countdown has begun for the implementation of the Ministry of Education’s decision regarding the new school hours, which will officially take effect on the morning of Sunday, November 2, 2025. The decision has been widely anticipated by parents, who expressed relief and support for the move as it prioritizes their children’s safety amid the cold and unstable weather conditions.
According to the ministry’s circular, the morning assembly for single-shift schools will begin at 8:15 a.m., with the first class starting at 8:30 a.m. and lasting 45 minutes. In double-shift schools, the morning shift will start with assembly at 8:15 a.m. and the first class at 8:30 a.m., while the afternoon shift will begin with assembly at 12:50 p.m. and the first class at 1:00 p.m.
Class duration The ministry clarified that class periods in both shifts will last 35 minutes, with the five-minute break canceled, and confirmed that schools will open their doors to students starting at 7:45 a.m.
The decision comes as part of the ministry’s plan to ensure a well-organized educational process and provide a safe and suitable learning environment, particularly during the winter season. Parents described the move as “long-awaited and necessary,” noting that it helps reduce students’ early-morning hardships and exposure to cold weather in certain regions.
