Elderly man attempts to sell fake paintings worth millions

Police said the forged painting was in the possession of an 84-year-old Swiss woman, who is now under investigation by the Amberg public prosecutor's office
After examination by an art expert, it was confirmed that the painting was a fake
The main suspect also attempted to sell 19 other forged paintings by world-famous artists, priced between €400,000 and €14 million, including works by Frida Kahlo, Peter Paul Rubens, Amedeo Modigliani, and Joan Miró
He was assisted by a 74-year-old German man who prepared fake reports to certify the authenticity of the artworks
Both men were arrested during the raids and later released on bail, while the investigation remains ongoing
