Debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961

The car, with chassis number #2 and registration plate 9600 HP, is among the earliest Jaguar E-Types displayed at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show.

After spending time in the United States, the car returned to the UK in 1989 for a comprehensive restoration that preserved its classic charm while adding modern touches, including:

  • Converting the steering wheel back to the right side as originally launched.
  • Repainting in glossy Opalescent Gunmetal Grey.
  • Refurbishing the interior with new seats and carpeting.
  • Installing a modern SS exhaust system without altering the original engine.

The car also played a prominent role in the comedic series, serving as the companion of Atkinson’s character, Trevor Bingley, in his whimsical encounter with a bee, cementing its status as an iconic fusion of cinematic history and classic automotive design.
