Makeup artist Mai Kamal, ex-wife of actor Ahmed Mekky, has turned to the judiciary after her personal life was exposed in the media, negatively affecting her mental and physical health.

Mai Kamal filed an official complaint against a satellite channel that broadcast details of her private life in a way that led to a deterioration in her psychological state, forcing her hospitalization for treatment and medical follow-up.

“A blatant violation”

Mai Kamal confirmed that the broadcast constituted a blatant violation of her privacy, calling on the relevant authorities to take legal measures to protect her rights and prevent such media transgressions from happening again.

“I still love him and I’m very sad about losing him”

The former wife of Ahmed Mekky did not hesitate to reveal details of their past relationship, confirming that they were officially married and divorced, and that feelings of love persisted despite their separation.

In a television interview, Mai said: “God will surely write for me to live with someone else… but I still love Ahmed Mekky very much… the ring on my hand still has his name… I still love him and I am very sad about losing him… but I cannot go against God’s will.”

She also explained the reason for keeping their marriage private, stating that while it was known to close friends, she did not wish to make it public, and that Ahmed Mekky had always refused to share any details about his personal life.

The case has sparked widespread interest in media circles and among the public, with calls to respect celebrities’ private lives and for media outlets to adhere to legal and ethical boundaries when reporting personal details that could affect their health and well-being.
