Social media erupted today with videos showing several Turkish celebrities being transported to a hospital under the guard of the Gendarmerie, affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of Interior, to undergo blood tests as part of the “Celebrities and Banned Substances” campaign.
Turkish media outlets and social media users circulated clips showing prominent Turkish stars being transferred in police vehicles to the Forensic Medicine Institute, then escorted under tight security into the hospital for testing, leaving their fans and followers in shock.
“Celebrities and Banned Substances”
Close-up footage revealed the faces of celebrities who were taken from their homes at dawn as part of the campaign known in the media as “Celebrities and Banned Substances.” Among the stars named in the reports were Mart Yazicioglu, Kan Yildirim, Kubilay Aka, Demet Evgar, Ceren Moray, Barak Tozonataj, and Meric Aral. Each male actor was accompanied by two security personnel, while each actress was under the protection of a single female officer.

“Undergoing Necessary Tests”
Turkish journalist Persen Altuntas commented on one of the clips, saying: “The celebrities taken from their homes were transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute to undergo the necessary tests.”
The operation was conducted as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Office of Investigation for Smuggling, Banned Substances, and Economic Crimes, affiliated with the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Nineteen public figures were questioned, and blood samples were collected before they were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for blood, hair, and urine tests. Meanwhile, some relatives of the celebrities went to the Gendarmerie headquarters to support them.
Actress Demet Evgar, awaiting questioning, said her friend Khadija Aslan visited to boost her morale, noting that filming locations were temporarily halted due to the investigations.
Turkish lawyer Sevinch Horuz, who represents singer Dylan Bolat, stated that the investigation began based on a report, though she does not yet know its contents. She emphasized that the operation is not an arrest, but rather the collection of statements.
She added: “My client’s statement has been completed, confirming that she has not used any banned substances. Statements from the other suspects are currently being completed.”
