Lebanese singer Maya Diab sustained a minor injury to her hand after coming into contact with a sea urchin, but the situation quickly escalated, requiring local anesthesia to remove the spines embedded in her hand.

Maya documented the incident in a video, showing how the black spines pierced her hand during repeated attempts to hold the sea urchin. Her adventurous spirit, however, caused pain that forced her doctor to intervene immediately to remove the spines.

Hand tissue damage

Despite the pain, Maya insisted on continuing to hold the sea urchin and succeeded, but the discomfort increased to the point that she could not move her hand. The doctor attempted to remove the spines with a needle but was unsuccessful, necessitating a visit to a medical clinic where she was given local anesthesia to safely extract the spines that had damaged the outer tissue of her hand.

“Haramt Ahebbak”

It is worth noting that Maya Diab’s latest work included a reimagined version of the song “Haramt Ahebbak” by the late Warda Al-Jazairia, along with a renewed release of her own song “Keda Bardou Tagheeb”, originally released about eight years ago. She shared it with new visuals, which received widespread audience engagement, bringing listeners back to the song via YouTube.
