"Jannat: "I regret delaying my marriage

Moroccan singer Jannat revealed insights into her home life, emphasizing that she never stops singing, whether during her free time or while in the small studio she set up at home.
Jannat told a television program: "I always sing at home, and I have a studio in the house, which is why my daughters sing along with me." She noted that this environment has helped her daughters develop a passion for music from a young age. She added that her favorite moments are when she shares singing with her daughters, considering these times as filling the house with joy and happiness.
She continued: "I regret not getting married earlier, especially not marrying Mohamed sooner. I didn’t give us a chance to really get to know each other. Surely, if we had married earlier, Jinni and Julia would be older now."
Choosing the daughters’ names and the stories behind them
Jannat spoke about choosing her daughters’ names, explaining that her husband Mohamed wished their first daughter would carry his name as a tribute and expression of love, which came true. She said: "Mohamed wanted our first daughter to be named Jannat like me." As for their second daughter, Jannat explained that she wanted to name her Julia, and the name was agreed upon to honor the family’s wishes. She emphasized that the diversity of names reflects love and the desire to preserve names close to the heart.
The daughters’ potential musical future
Regarding the possibility of her daughters becoming singers in the future, Jannat said their talent is evident, given they grew up in a home full of music. However, she stressed that she would not impose any specific path on them: "I give them the freedom to choose their own lives as they wish, but the talent is there and visible in them." She affirmed that what matters most is that they enjoy the freedom to make their own choices and live their lives as they want.
Motherhood amid art and daily life
Jannat noted that motherhood has given her maturity and balance, explaining that she now lives with two passions: art and motherhood. She added: "I’m lucky that my daughters sing with me and participate in every moment; it’s the greatest joy of my life." She emphasized that her family is her main source of happiness and inspiration.
The philosophy of singing and responsibility
Discussing her song "Blame Who," Jannat explained that it reflects a philosophy close to her: that a person must take responsibility for their decisions. "Anyone who faces a problem is responsible for it, and we shouldn’t throw our mistakes onto others." She added that everyone experiences moments of weakness and makes wrong decisions, but the key is acknowledging mistakes and bearing their consequences: "I often blame myself, but that blame helps me understand where I went wrong and learn from it."
Years of motherhood and sacrifices
Jannat described the past five years as "years stolen" for the sake of raising her daughters: "The past five years don’t count from my life… I was living entirely with them." She confirmed that motherhood wasn’t easy, as it carried massive responsibilities and daily details, but it gave her maturity and a different perspective on life, even if it meant postponing many of her artistic commitments.
Home studio: a turning point
The Moroccan singer highlighted that setting up a home studio was a major turning point, allowing her to combine motherhood and art: "Having the studio next to my children gave me psychological comfort and helped me regain my artistic enthusiasm." She confirmed that she now feels ready to launch new musical projects that reflect her experience as both a mother and an artist simultaneously.
