Satire on Trump… A Hearty Serving on Jimmy Kimmel’s Show

The famous late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, 57, began taping his show on Monday from Brooklyn, continuing a familiar tradition—although the program is usually filmed at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles.
Joining Kimmel for this special East Coast episode were stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Johnson, and the band Public Enemy.
Political and Comedic Opening Monologue Kimmel’s opening monologue focused on former U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration, including a joke about Trump’s recent order to release files on the disappearance of the famous plane Amelia Earhart, which vanished on July 2, 1937, while attempting to become the first woman to fly around the world.
Kimmel joked, “The president worked hard to invent all sorts of nonsense to distract us from the Epstein files. Unless it was her last flight to Epstein Island, no one cares. At least he got to the files—that’s progress.”
He also added a comedic touch regarding local events, commenting on the performance of the New York Mets and jokingly critiquing Mayor Eric Adams and Senator J.D. Vance, keeping the humor flowing throughout the Brooklyn shows.
Return After Hiatus The Brooklyn shows come just six days after the program returned to air on September 23, following a six-day suspension when some ABC and Sinclair channels pulled Kimmel’s monologue about Charlie Kirk’s death, calling it “inappropriate and insensitive.”
In his first monologue post-return, Kimmel expressed condolences to Kirk’s family, emphasizing that his goal is to highlight the dangers of gun violence, separate from any political agendas.
