Recent news about artist Shirin Abdel-Wahab has sparked widespread controversy among her fans, following the circulation of conflicting reports regarding her whereabouts and health condition.
Some sources reported that Shirin traveled to one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland, where she is undergoing a psychological treatment program lasting 6 to 7 months to help her overcome recent mental challenges. The sources explained that the artist is living in complete isolation inside the clinic according to doctors’ instructions, as she is prohibited from using a mobile phone or communicating with the outside world, and is accompanied only by two close relatives for emotional support.
The sources added that her two daughters, Hana and Maryam, are staying with their father, composer Mohamed Mostafa, in a stable family environment during this period, until their mother completes her treatment and fully recovers.
On the other hand, other media reports categorically denied that Shirin had traveled abroad, confirming that she is still residing in Cairo and personally supervising the care of her daughters in a calm family atmosphere characterized by mutual understanding with their father.
A source from an Egyptian newspaper indicated that rumors about her being in Switzerland are untrue, describing these reports as mere “rumors” resulting from her temporary absence from the artistic scene.
Artistically, Shirin recently released a national song titled “Ghalia Alena Ya Baldna” in collaboration with poet Tamer Hussein, composer Amr Mostafa, and arranger Toma, which reassured her fans to some extent.
