Lebanese actor Georges Khabbaz is participating this year in the Hamburg International Film Festival in Germany with two prominent films, delivering an exceptional performance as part of his efforts to strengthen his global cinematic presence.

The first film, titled "Mille secrets, mille dangers" ("A Thousand Secrets, a Thousand Dangers"), is directed by Oscar-nominated Canadian filmmaker Philippe Falardeau. Shot in Montreal in French, it is based on a story by writer Alain Farah.

"A Thousand Secrets, a Thousand Dangers" The film follows 24 hours in the life of a young groom, offering a warm and humorous portrayal of everyday human pressures. Adapted from Farah’s 2021 book of the same title, it is a fast-paced story depicting what was meant to be “the best day of his life.” The film opened the Hamburg festival and previously competed in the official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

"Yunan" The second film, "Yunan", is directed by Lebanese filmmaker Amir Fakhruddin and features European cinema star Hanna Schygulla. Shot in Hamburg in German, Georges Khabbaz plays Monir, a writer from the Middle East living in Hamburg who deeply misses his homeland. Frustrated by exile and displacement, he travels to Langeness, surrounded by nature, intending to make a decisive life choice. He finds refuge in a small hotel owned by Valeska (Hanna Schygulla), an experienced elderly woman who changes the course of his life.

The film previously competed in the official selection at the Berlin International Film Festival and has won nine awards at international festivals, including three Golden Awards for Georges Khabbaz as Best Lead Actor, highlighting the Lebanese star’s remarkable international acclaim.
