Carmen Lebs Recalls Her Memories with Ziad Rahbani in a Touching "Video"

Lebanese actress Carmen Lebs shared a video in the style of a music clip, delivering heartfelt words to the late artist Ziad Rahbani. In the video, she showcased rare photos of them together, as well as handwritten letters they had exchanged, reflecting the romantic relationship that lasted between them for 15 years.
Appearing in front of Abada Shaarani’s camera, Lebs said: "You know that feeling when you think you’ve closed the chapter on your first love, and suddenly you realize the page is still open with all its wounds? I’ve been saying for years that I moved on, but at the same time I keep asking 'why'? The last 'why' was, why didn’t you want to see me? I realized later, too late, that you didn’t want to see yourself like that—maybe you didn’t want to see me while I was seeing you like that."
She continued: "I missed you, and I knew you missed me but didn’t tell me. They told me you were asking about me, but I wish I had heard it from you. I told you in your absence that I emptied the country, but when you left, I felt empty too. I felt like everything was left hanging."
Memories That Cannot Be Erased
Carmen concluded her message to Ziad Rahbani: "Questions no one answered, and memories no one can erase. I used to run from your story not because I didn’t want it, but because I was afraid it might feel like the sweetest story. Every street, every corner, every place reminds me of you. I loved you, I still do, and all the sentences still end with you."
The video brought Carmen Lebs’ relationship with Ziad Rahbani back into the spotlight, highlighting the deep love and memories they shared and reaffirming the significant impact he had on her personal and artistic life.
