Tragic accident claims life of Mexican news anchor during flight lesson
Débora Estrella

Mexican broadcaster Débora Estrella, 43, died in a plane crash while taking a flying lesson near an industrial area in García, Nuevo León, in northeastern Mexico. Television personality and pilot Brian Ballesteros also perished in the accident, and no survivors were reported.

Shortly before the incident, Débora had shared details of her flight lesson on social media as part of her effort to obtain a pilot’s license.

"A Huge Void"

Her colleague María said, “Débora’s absence will leave a huge void in the studio. She lived her life to the fullest and brought passion and energy to everyone around her.” She added, “We must live life fully, do what we love, and never waste a single moment.”

Meanwhile, Manuel Guerra Cavazos, mayor of García, confirmed via social media the crash and the deaths of two people, noting that the plane went down near the Pesquería River in the Metrás industrial area.

Fans expressed deep sorrow on social media. One wrote, “Fly high, Débora, rest in peace,” while another added, “We will always remember your beautiful smile and wonderful personality.”
