Artist Malak Al-Kuwaitia Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

The Kuwaiti Criminal Court has sentenced artist Ahoud Awad Al-Azmi, known as Malak Al-Kuwaitia, to five years in prison with hard labor and fined her 5,000 Kuwaiti dinars in a case involving insult, defamation, and slander.
The case stems from an exchange of complaints between the parties, in which the artist filed a report accusing the other party of incitement to immorality following statements she considered offensive to her personally and professionally, claiming an abuse of influence to sway public opinion.
In turn, a complaint was filed against the artist accusing her of insult, defamation, and slander, based on statements she made that allegedly affected the other party’s reputation, leading the case to the Criminal Court, which issued its final ruling.
It is worth noting that Malak Al-Kuwaitia began her artistic career in 2003, gaining prominence with bold and complex roles in series such as “Abla Noura,” “Al-Sajeena,” and “Zuwarat Al-Khamis.” She has been married several times and has two children.
