Bella Hadid in hospital shares photos that worry her followers

The global model Bella Hadid sparked concern among her followers after posting photos from inside a hospital, showing her in a weakened state during her battle with Lyme disease, amid heartfelt support messages from her sister Gigi and her mother Yolanda.
In the photos Bella shared on Instagram on Wednesday, she appeared connected to an IV on a hospital bed; in one shot, she covered her mouth in pain, while in another she appeared flushed and wearing a bandage on her forehead.
"I’m sorry"
She also shared pictures of herself wearing a Pikachu onesie, another with playing cards, a late-night pizza on her hospital bed, and a photo sitting in a corner of an elevator drinking coffee, captioning it: "I’m sorry, I’m always absent, love you all."
Gigi Hadid was among the first to comment, writing: "Love you! Hope you feel the strength and health you deserve soon!" Her mother Yolanda added: "Oh, my Lyme warrior."
Years of struggle with Lyme disease
Although Bella did not specify the reason for her hospitalization this time, she had previously provided a detailed update on her Lyme disease treatment in a 2023 post, confirming that she has been dealing with the hidden illness for around 15 years. She stated: "It’s worth it to be able to spread love from a full cup and be myself for the first time in my life."
She added: "Living in this condition, which worsens over time and work, has affected me negatively in ways I truly cannot explain, despite all the blessings, opportunities, and love around me. Perhaps this has been the most confusing part for me."
Yolanda Hadid reveals her children’s diagnosis
Yolanda Hadid, who was also diagnosed with Lyme disease, revealed that Bella and her brother Anwar were diagnosed in 2012. During a speech at the Global Lyme Gala in 2015, she said: "This award is for Anwar and Bella. This is symbolic and my promise to you that I will not allow you to live a life full of pain and suffering."
Bella and her family are not the only celebrities affected by this chronic illness. Justin Timberlake announced his diagnosis in July, while Shania Twain admitted in her 2022 Netflix documentary Not Just a Girl that she experienced fainting spells and dizziness before being diagnosed with the disease in 2003.
