"Enas Meki: "I suffered from a rare autoimmune disease that affected my mental health

Actress Enas Meki revealed that she suffered a health crisis due to a rare autoimmune disease that appeared after swelling on one side of her face, which affected her psychological well-being.
During a television interview on a program, Enas explained that she is completely prohibited from any cosmetic injections such as fillers or Botox because of the nature of her condition. She denied undergoing any cosmetic procedures and emphasized her refusal to alter her natural features, despite some directors suggesting she modify her nose, saying: "I’m not a beauty queen to be forced into that."
"My mother was my biggest supporter"
Regarding her late mother, Enas expressed the pain of losing her, highlighting that she had been her greatest supporter in life and a source of strength and hope, even during illness. She described her mother’s role in teaching her patience during hardships, recalling her mother’s words: "You are beautiful, and the illness will be treated."
Enas also spoke about her professional life, stressing that her artistic contributions have not been fully recognized, and that production and direction often did not grant her the status she deserved, with leading roles sometimes going to less talented actresses.
She emphasized that she entered the arts to create meaningful work, not for financial gain, and affirmed that she draws her energy from the genuine love of her audience, without relying on online promotion teams or paying for social media publicity.
Enas also discussed her difficult marital life, confirming her divorce after just six months of marriage due to her husband’s excessive jealousy and temper during the filming of the series "Bishrm El-Sheikh". She stated: "I was raised so that no one speaks to me that way," adding that she returned all the gifts, including the "dowry and ring," and that the experience made her more mature.
Regarding her brother, actor Ahmed Meki, Enas denied any rumors of conflict between them, affirming that he is a true support in her life. She explained: "I never asked Ahmed to recommend me for a role, and if he sees I’m suitable, he speaks for me on his own." She confirmed that she never felt broken due to the absence of a man in her life, as her brother provides sufficient support and compensation.
