Death of Hollywood Legend Robert Redford at 89

American cinema legend Robert Redford passed away at the age of 89 on September 16 at his home in Sundance, Utah, according to his agent, Cindy Berger.
Berger told BBC News: "Robert Redford passed away surrounded by those he loved. He will be deeply missed by everyone, and the family asks for privacy."
Iconic Roles Redford was one of the most prominent stars of American cinema, known for his roles in classic films such as The Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He also founded the famous Sundance Film Festival in Utah, which has become a major platform for supporting independent films.
He won the Academy Award for Best Director in 1980 for Ordinary People and officially retired from acting in 2018, having previously expressed fatigue with fame and the industry.
Other notable films in his career include The Candidate, All the President’s Men, and Indecent Proposal.
Despite the immense stardom he achieved after Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Redford was known for his humility and was not always comfortable with the title "The Handsome Stranger."
