Citizens question the possibility of switching to winter time Government sources confirm the continuation of daylight saving time

As autumn approaches, questions are growing among citizens in Jordan about the possibility of returning to winter time as practiced in previous years.

Many are seeking an answer on whether the government will adjust the clocks at the end of October, especially with the changing and shortening daylight hours.

Despite this anticipation, government sources confirmed that the permanent daylight saving time system remains in effect and that there will be no return to winter time this year.

Daylight saving time continues

The sources explained that the Cabinet decision issued in 2022, which canceled winter time and established permanent daylight saving time, is still in force. They emphasized that there is no intention or current study to change the clocks again.

This decision reflects the government’s interest in unifying time to facilitate economic and administrative matters, as well as reducing the confusion previously caused by adjusting the clocks twice a year. Citizens sometimes found it difficult to manage their schedules and keep up with work and school routines after the time changes.

While some continue to follow updates on time changes with keen interest, it appears that the near future will see daylight saving time continue uninterrupted, allowing citizens to plan their days in advance without concern about clock adjustments at the end of October.
