The Egyptian TV host Asma Sherif Mounir surprised her fans by announcing that she has decided to wear the hijab. She shared photos of herself in hijab alongside her husband on her official Instagram account, a step that received wide interaction from her followers.

Expressing her happiness with the decision, which shocked many, Asma wrote: “Alhamdulillah, I only had one scarf and one outfit that suited this step, but I felt deep inside that this was the right decision. The hijab is not just clothing—it’s a decision from the heart, a covenant between me and God, and an indescribable comfort. Pray for my steadfastness, and I need places where I can find beautiful clothes to help me with this step.”

“Asma has struggled in her life” This step comes just a few months after her wedding last June, which was celebrated in an intimate family gathering filled with emotional moments. During the marriage ceremony, her father, actor Sherif Mounir, delivered a heartfelt message to her husband, saying: “The most important thing is that you embrace her, because Asma has struggled and fought hard in her life, and she has stood by me a lot.”

He added: “She is like a mother to me, she guides me. I don’t ask anything from you except to embrace her, because one day I will leave, and I want to be reassured about her.”

“Alhamdulillah, I got married” Asma had previously announced her marriage on Instagram, confirming that the decision came after a long journey of searching and reflection. She wrote at the time: “Alhamdulillah, I got married. This decision came after a long journey with myself… I learned a lot from it, went through different experiences, and understood what I really need from marriage, what is important and what isn’t. For a long time, I kept praying for God to reward my patience with goodness, and I always said: O Lord, choose for me and do not let me choose. I fully entrusted this decision to God.”
