Mohamed Sami: “After the call, I asked myself… why is Mona Zaki so special?” Mohamed Sami: “Why is Mona Zaki the actress you believe in the most and connect with?”

Egyptian director Mohamed Sami praised actress Mona Zaki in a long post on his official Facebook account, expressing his great admiration for her after a recent phone call, stressing that she remains an exceptional figure in Egyptian and Arab art.

Sami wrote: “I was talking to Mona Zaki, greeting her and chatting a bit, moving from one topic to another. After the call, I asked myself: why is Mona Zaki so unique? Why does she have such a special glow? Why is she the most important star and the greatest talent? Despite belonging to a strong generation of talented and successful actresses, none of them reached the level Mona Zaki has achieved.”

He added: “From her very first day as an actress until now, she has remained an icon that is hard to replicate or even come close to, in terms of artistry, stardom, and the audience’s love. Why is Mona Zaki the actress you believe in the most, the one you can truly connect with? Why is her image the first to come to mind whenever you think of an actress?”

Sami continued: “Mona Zaki is cultured, educated, refined, and constantly evolving. She doesn’t act or appear for the sake of it, nor does she care about trivial details. Her words are thoughtful, her questions meaningful, and every discussion with her is smart and purposeful. She speaks about art in a way that makes you proud to belong to it. She is successful not only as an actress but also as a wife and mother.”

Highlighting her artistic excellence, Sami said: “When you watch any scene of hers, you see preparation, study, vision, and clear effort in the smallest details. She delivers the toughest scenes with simplicity and elegance, without exaggeration or distraction. Even her way of handling criticism shows her boundless self-confidence.”

He added: “In her interviews, social roles, public appearances, or even her fashion choices, she always selects carefully, embodying a role model and a source of pride for Egyptian women.”

Sami concluded: “It’s hard to sum up Mona Zaki’s greatness in one post, but after speaking with her, I felt the need to write this. Egyptian and Arab art is truly blessed to have a superstar like Mona Zaki. Her generation and peers are lucky to have shared her era, and the younger generation of actresses is fortunate to learn from her. May God preserve Mona Zaki as a gift to art, and may her success and brilliance continue. I love you, great one, who made us fall deeper in love with our craft.”
