According to press reports, the mother of the former Zamalek player filed an official complaint with the Public Prosecutor, requesting the exhumation and autopsy of his body, citing doubts about the cause of death previously announced as cancer. She also noted the presence of an abdominal wound that raises suspicions of an unreported surgery, fueling speculation about the potential removal of some of his organs, such as a kidney or liver.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Shika’s family denied all claims circulating on social media regarding the exhumation or any marks on his body, stressing that these rumors are baseless and that investigations are ongoing.

Direct Cause of Ibrahim Shika’s Death The official death certificate reveals that the immediate cause of death was pulmonary embolism resulting from a blood clot that blocked the pulmonary artery and stopped blood flow to the lungs, leading to sudden death. This indirectly refutes claims that he died of cancer or as a result of organ removal.

Consideration of Exhumation In a related development, the Public Prosecutor launched an urgent investigation, reviewing the complaints submitted by the family and examining the player’s full medical file, while also considering the possibility of exhuming the body and referring it to forensic examination if necessary.

Counselor Magdy Salah, the family’s lawyer, confirmed that medical documents regarding Shika’s final treatment period are still unavailable, accusing his widow, Heba El-Turki, of withholding them, and emphasized that investigations continue to determine whether any surgery related to his organs was performed.
