The name of young Indian actress Lakshmi Menon (29) has dominated media headlines and social media pages in recent hours, following the official announcement of her involvement in a kidnapping and assault case targeting an IT employee.

Kochi City Police Commissioner, Bota Vimaladitya, stated that Menon is currently at large, while two other suspects have been arrested. Investigations are ongoing to determine her exact role in the case. The police urged anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward immediately.

According to the complaint, a fight broke out between two groups at a city bar, with Menon present alongside three others, including Methun, Anish, and another female companion. The altercation later spilled onto the street, where the complainant, Aliyar Shah Salim, and his friends attempted to flee, but the other group’s car pursued them.

Physical assault and threats Salim explained that at 11:45 p.m., near the North Railway Bridge, he was forcibly stopped and pulled into the car in which Menon was present, where he was physically assaulted and threatened, before being released at the Aluva-Paravoor junction.

The police confirmed that a formal investigation has been launched, and two of the suspects, Methun and Anish, have been detained, while Lakshmi Menon remains at large.
