What is BPPV?
BPPV is a common disorder of the inner ear that causes short, sudden episodes of dizziness when moving the head in certain positions. It usually occurs due to dislodged calcium crystals inside the inner ear accumulating in the semicircular canals, leading to an uncomfortable sensation of vertigo and imbalance.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is one of the most common causes of dizziness, appearing suddenly and causing a feeling of spinning or loss of balance. Although the condition is not dangerous to health, it can be very uncomfortable and affect the patient’s daily mobility.
