Mohamed Abdel Wahab, brother of singer Shireen Abdel Wahab, issued an official statement on behalf of the family, urging media outlets to verify information carefully and avoid being swayed by rumors or fabricated news attributed to any party.

The statement emphasized that the family reserves its legal right to confront such allegations, noting that responding to these trivialities would only waste the time of the public and opinion-makers. Some of the claims were described as absurd enough to “make a chick doubt it was ever a chick” and “convince you that the sun rises from the west.”

Hossam Habib’s Remarks Against Shireen’s Brother

The family statement came after comments made by Hossam Habib during a live broadcast with journalist Basma Wahba on Instagram, in which he attacked Shireen’s brother, accusing him of spreading lies, tarnishing his image before the public, and attempting to interfere in his relationship with his sister.

Speaking angrily, Habib said: “Unfortunately, those closest to me are the ones attacking me. Instead of taking care of his sister, he tarnishes her image and mine. He has the ability to convince people of falsehoods, but I will not give up my rights or Shireen’s legal rights.” He also explained that there are organized attempts to distance him from the singer and exert psychological pressure on him.

Habib stressed that he will not relinquish his rights, adding: “He ignores the law and manipulates investigations, but the law is supreme, and I will not abandon my rights no matter what.” He revealed that he has already begun taking legal action against anyone attempting to harm his reputation or disrupt his life.

Shireen at the Center of the Dispute

Habib emphasized that the greatest loser in this conflict is the artist herself. He said: “Shireen is exhausted and overwhelmed by the pressures, and instead of standing by her, they attack me. I swear I will not give up my rights, and the public must stand against those who harm her out of respect for her.”

He concluded by urging the public not to fall for the rumors circulating on social media, assuring that the truth will soon emerge and affirming his commitment to exposing anyone attempting to exploit Shireen’s crisis or harm her and himself.
