He wore his suit and then the shroud… Wedding turns into tragedy in Tunisia

On Thursday evening, the Mahfel Al-Kiswa area in the Ben Guerdane district of Medenine, Tunisia, witnessed a tragic incident that turned the joyful atmosphere of a wedding into shock and deep sorrow, after the groom was killed by a random gunshot, highlighting once again the dangers of unsafe celebratory practices.
According to Tunisian media, the incident occurred during the wedding ceremony when one of the attendees fired gunshots from a hunting rifle to express his joy, hitting the groom. He was rushed to the Medenine Regional Hospital, but passed away despite resuscitation attempts.
Guests injured with varying severity
The incident also resulted in injuries to several guests of varying severity, including a nine-year-old child and the videographer, all of whom received the necessary medical attention.
Following the incident, the public prosecutor in Medenine arrived at the scene and ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances, as well as the transfer of the groom’s body to the forensic department.
Meanwhile, security forces launched extensive searches to apprehend the shooter, who fled the scene immediately after the incident.
