"It wasn’t drowning": The shocking cause of Timor Timor’s death revealed

Actor Amr Farid Shoukry shared his thoughts on the tragic passing of director of photography Timor Timor, who died in a tragic accident at the North Coast while attempting to save his son from drowning.
Shoukry explained that the death was not caused directly by drowning, but by a sudden cardiac arrest triggered by an emotional shock.
“Emotional shock”
Shoukry, who has prior experience as a swimming coach and river lifeguard before entering the acting world, wrote on his Facebook account: “I can confirm that what happened to Timor, may he rest in peace, was an emotional shock that stopped his heart during the rescue attempt.”
He added that rescuers in such situations should not be led solely by emotion, noting that saving a close person—especially one’s own child—is exponentially harder and more emotionally taxing than saving a stranger.
“Bravest father”
Timor Timor’s son, Salim, expressed his deep grief for the first time after his father’s death while attempting to save him in Ras El Hikma, drawing widespread attention and sympathy for his post.
Salim shared on Instagram Stories a series of photos showing moments with his father at different stages of life, accompanied by the caption: “Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return. You are the bravest father. I love you, Dad.”—a heartfelt moment reflecting the deep bond between father and son.
