After "the offensive language"... a severe penalty awaits Badreya Talba

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Actors’ Syndicate, headed by actor Ashraf Zaki, has scheduled a hearing next Wednesday to investigate actress Badreya Talba, following remarks described as inappropriate during a live broadcast on “TikTok.”
A source within the syndicate revealed that the board proposed appointing a judicial advisor from the State Council to lead the investigation instead of relying solely on the syndicate’s legal affairs department. The suggestion was welcomed by the members to ensure complete transparency.
“Suspension from acting and a fine” The source added that the potential penalties may include suspending Badreya Talba from acting for a period ranging from six months to one year, in addition to a possible fine. He stressed that recent rumors about permanently expelling her from the syndicate are false, as the case does not warrant such a measure.
Background of the crisis Ashraf Zaki had earlier issued an urgent decision to refer Badreya Talba for investigation after she insulted some followers with offensive language during a TikTok livestream. The syndicate also released an official statement affirming that it would take all legal measures against any artist who violates the code of professional ethics.
Badreya Talba’s response For her part, the renowned comedy actress responded in a Facebook livestream, asserting that she has been targeted by smear campaigns spreading false rumors. She said:
“They spread bizarre rumors accusing me of organ trafficking, and even of killing my late husband. All of this is pure fabrication and lies.”
She added that she has filed a lawsuit against the woman behind the rumor and made it clear that she will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who defames her, especially since such rumors affect her reputation and her family.
She concluded by affirming that her artistic career and her audience’s right to the truth compel her to defend herself against these accusations, describing the rumor-mongers as “sick.”
