On Monday, Jordan witnessed two tragic incidents that dominated social media, resulting in five deaths and widespread public outrage.

In Marka Al-Janoubiyah, east of the capital Amman, Civil Defense teams responded in the evening to a fire that broke out in a perfume shop.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate confirmed that firefighting and ambulance teams managed to extinguish the fire, which caused the deaths of three people and injured five others.

The deceased were evacuated, and the injured were taken to the nearest hospital, while authorities have opened an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the fire.

Two people drowned in Irbid

In another incident in Irbid Governorate, diving teams from the Western Irbid Civil Defense Directorate responded to a drowning accident involving two individuals inside an agricultural pond in the Tabaqat Fahl area.

The bodies were retrieved from the pond and transported to Abi Ubaida Governmental Hospital by ambulance teams, while an investigation was launched to determine the conditions and circumstances of the incident.

Security and medical authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, amid ongoing calls to adhere to safety measures to prevent such painful accidents.
