In the midst of this frenzy, actress Nihal Anbar, the spokesperson for the Actors’ Syndicate, broke her silence to put an end to the rumors, firmly denying that Wafaa Amer was ever taken into custody.

"At home" Nihal Anbar posted on her Instagram account, stating: "The circulated news about the arrest of Wafaa Amer is completely false. She has no connection whatsoever with the bloggers who were recently detained. She is currently safe and sound at her home in the North Coast."
