The Syrian Artists Syndicate prepares to receive Asala in Damascus

Syrian singer Asala Nasri plans to visit Damascus, marking her first trip in nearly 14 years, a move that has sparked widespread interest among her fans both inside Syria and abroad.
As part of the preparations for this visit, the Central Committee of the Syrian Artists Syndicate received Mr. Anas Nasri to discuss the details of the anticipated visit.
The syndicate confirmed in an official statement that the meeting focused on reviewing the visit’s details and preparing for it in a manner befitting Asala’s artistic stature and distinguished history. This reflects serious coordination between the syndicate and relevant authorities to ensure the visit is organized appropriately.
Prior intention to visit Damascus
Asala had previously stated, during her participation in the Jerash Festival, her intention to visit Syria, noting that the visit depends on certain undisclosed conditions. She also hinted at the possibility of being in Damascus before the end of August, without clarifying the nature of the visit.
These developments clearly indicate that the moment of Asala Nasri’s return to her audience in Syria is drawing near, whether through an artistic or official event eagerly awaited after years of absence.
“A Magical Night”
Separately, Asala expressed her deep happiness following her participation in the Jerash Festival 2025, amid great audience interaction and cheers filling the stage, especially after her powerful performance of the song “Palestine is Arab.”
She also spoke about the closing night at Jerash, posting a video clip of the concert on her Instagram account, commenting: “Oh God, if there was a word to describe this magical night, my voice out of happiness would surpass my imagination. I soared to the highest extent and my energy blended with the audience’s energy. Everyone was enchanted, and the atmosphere was full of music and joy.”
“One Spirit”
She added: “Music brought us together, and the spirit was one. Thank you, Jordan, for one of the most beautiful nights of my life on the magnificent Jerash stage—the stage that transports us from one beautiful era to another.”
She concluded by thanking the Jerash Festival management and the Jordanian people, promising future meetings.
Official Honor on Stage
During the event, the Jerash Festival management honored Asala in recognition of her long singing career and distinguished presence. She received the award plaque from the Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, Minister of Local Administration Walid Al-Masri, Jerash Governor Malik Khrisat, and the festival’s Executive Director Ayman Samawi.
