Following the passing of the legendary musician Ziad Rahbani a few days ago, a deep cloud of grief has enveloped his family, who chose to mourn privately, away from the spotlight and social media. Fairouz, the late artist’s mother, returned to her home after attending her son’s funeral and receiving condolences throughout the past week.

Amid the family’s silence, artist Ghassan Elias Rahbani, Ziad’s cousin, shared a touching photo on social media of Fairouz walking slowly inside the church, near her son’s casket. Her face visibly reflected the pain and heartbreak. Standing closely by her side was her daughter, Rima Rahbani, holding her mother’s hand with tenderness and care, making sure she was safe and surrounded with love every moment.

The photo was taken last Monday, just before the burial ceremony. The grieving mother made a point to be there in person, to bid her final farewell and cast one last look at her son.

In his caption accompanying the photo, Ghassan expressed his deep sympathy for Fairouz and Rima, writing: “My heart is with you, the one who stands by the grieving mother.” The post was met with widespread emotional reactions from followers, who voiced their sorrow and solidarity with Fairouz in her immense loss.
