In the video, Deek explained that his limp was due to a torn ligament sustained while filming a new music video, dismissing rumors that he had been in a serious accident.
With his signature humor, he said: "Even if I were completely broken, I would’ve still shown up for the funeral… May God ease Fairuz’s pain over the loss of the beloved Ziad." He added jokingly: "I’m fine, and on Saturday I’ll be in Cyprus for the concert—you’ll even see me swimming later."

Deek had earlier posted footage of his arrival at the funeral hall, visibly struggling to walk, accompanied by his brother, singer Hussein Deek.
