Social media platforms have been abuzz over the past two days with a horrific incident that took place in Irbid Governorate, where a man in his twenties strangled his wife to death just four months after their marriage, then buried her body in a remote area in an attempt to conceal his crime.

The Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court charged the perpetrator with premeditated murder. The suspect later confessed to the crime after being arrested.

According to a source familiar with the investigation who spoke to "Roya News," the suspect, who has a criminal record, strangled his wife following a dispute between them. He then waited until he was sure no one was around before moving her body and burying it in a distant location.

The crime was uncovered nearly three weeks after it occurred, following reports of the woman’s disappearance, despite no official missing person report being filed.

In a decomposed state

Immediately, the Public Security Directorate launched a special investigation. The team was able to identify and apprehend the husband, who confessed and led authorities to the burial site. The body was found in a state of decomposition and was transferred to the forensic medical center in the Northern Region to accurately determine the cause of death.

A wave of anger

This tragic crime sparked a wave of outrage and condemnation on social media, where users expressed their shock at the brutality of the incident—particularly as the victim had barely experienced her marriage before her life was ended by the very person meant to protect her. Many described the act as "barbaric and unjustifiable."
