Fajr Al-Saeed Sparks Social Media Outcry with Public Apology to Nawal

The Kuwaiti writer and media personality Fajr Al-Saeed issued a public apology to the singer Nawal Al Kuwaitia after failing to contact her directly. Al-Saeed said in a post on her social media accounts: "I tried to reach you by phone but unfortunately could not. Today, I contacted your sister, Ms. Nagat, to deliver my message, which I did not only speak verbally but insisted on writing on social media so it would reach everyone."
"I was wrong towards you" She added, "Dear great artist Nawal, everyone makes mistakes, and the best of those who err are those who repent. I was wrong towards you as an artist, not as a person, many times. I was harsh in my criticism and sometimes biased against you, and perhaps I hurt your feelings as a sensitive artist. After an honest self-reflection, I found no reason for this unjustified bias because I do not know you personally, have never met you, not even in the professional field, so why such unwarranted prejudice?"
She continued, "Maybe your devoted fans provoked me, and unfortunately, I impulsively reacted without appreciating your artistic value and status, which has nothing to do with what some fans say."
Al-Saeed sincerely asked, "Would you believe me if I told you that in my prayers I ask God to forgive me if I have hurt you, hurt your feelings, or caused you any harm?"
She concluded her message with a verse from the Quran: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
And ended by saying, "Please forgive me."
