"Bassma Boussel Drops a Bombshell: “This Song Was Mine Before Sherine

In a surprising revelation, Moroccan singer Bassma Boussel disclosed that the famous song "Masha'er" (Feelings), which became strongly associated with artist Sherine Abdel Wahab and garnered massive popularity, was originally intended for her debut album—personally overseen by artist Tamer Hosny.
In a radio interview, Bassma explained that Tamer had handpicked Masha’er for her musical project, but the song ultimately did not make it into the final album. She noted that a producer had taken on her debut work at the time, but several of its songs were later distributed to other female singers.
With visible sorrow, she added: “I don’t like revisiting that period—it stirs up painful memories.”

Despite stepping back somewhat from the music scene, Bassma Boussel expressed great confidence in herself, stating: “It’s impossible to forget me. I leave an impact on everyone I interact with—whether as a friend or as a mother. Anyone who enters my life must add something of value, and that’s what determines who stays and who leaves.”
Her Relationship with Tamer Hosny Post-Divorce
Speaking about her current relationship with her ex-husband, artist Tamer Hosny, Bassma voiced her appreciation for him, emphasizing his influence on her artistic journey. “I learned so much from him,” she said. “He never chose his songs randomly—his selection process was meticulous. It was like going through intensive artistic training with him.”
