Ayman Abli’s Lawyer Clarifies Circumstances of His Detention

Lawyer Ahmad Manko, legal representative of Jordanian activist and content creator Ayman Abli, clarified that his client was summoned by the Cybercrime Unit over a video posted on his Instagram account.
In a statement received by "Roya," Manko confirmed that Abli voluntarily presented himself to the authorities and was not arrested. He gave his testimony to the investigator and was later referred to the Amman Public Prosecutor, who on Thursday ordered his detention under Article 17 of the Cybercrime Law, on charges of:
"Publishing content that may incite strife."
Denial of Incitement to Hatred or Sectarianism
The lawyer denied all circulating claims that Abli had incited sectarianism or hatred, stressing that such allegations are "entirely baseless" and that the case solely revolves around content published on social media platforms.
A source close to the investigation confirmed that Abli’s detention came following legal action initiated by the Cybercrime Unit after reviewing the video in question. The case remains under judicial consideration.
