Dispute Between Tamer Hosny and a "Major Artist" Over Album Rankings

Egyptian artist Tamer Hosny sparked widespread controversy after posting an Instagram Story on his official account, in which he expressed his frustration over what he described as an attempt by a prominent artist to downplay the success of his latest album “Lena Ma’ad”.
Hosny shared a video showing his album topping various trending charts across multiple platforms. He criticized what he called misleading promotion by a well-known singer, who, according to Hosny, claimed the album ranked fourth — despite it being number one, as he asserted.
While Tamer did not explicitly name anyone, many followers linked his comments to fellow singer Amr Diab, especially since Diab’s photo appeared in the posted video.
Tamer wrote: "Isn’t it strange when a major artist — one we all admire — posts my photo claiming I ranked fourth, even though he knows full well my album was number one from day one? Just check the YouTube trend charts where my whole album topped the list."
He added: "I worked hard on this album, and people truly loved it. I’ve never posted photos of other artists just to show that I outperformed them — out of respect for their efforts and their audience."
Tamer further explained that he intentionally avoided sharing any visuals or headlines that showed him outperforming fellow artists, out of respect for his peers. He concluded his message with: "He’s a great artist — he doesn’t need to do this. In any case, congratulations."
It’s worth noting that “Lena Ma’ad” has received significant attention since its release, trending on multiple music platforms, according to fans and critics alike.
