Social media platforms in Jordan have been buzzing in recent hours over the case of a woman whose life was ended by her husband in Irbid governorate, sparking widespread outrage and concern among citizens.

According to a statement from the Public Security Directorate obtained by Roya, investigations led to uncovering the crime following a report of the woman’s disappearance without any official notification or announcement, prompting a special investigative team to verify the matter.

Suspicion falls on the husband

After gathering evidence, suspicion fell on the husband, who was arrested. During interrogation, he confessed to ending his wife’s life by strangulation about three weeks ago following disputes between them. He then transported her body and buried it in a remote wooded area away from residents, without informing anyone.

The Public Prosecutor was notified, and the body was recovered based on the suspect’s directions and sent for forensic examination. Investigations continue in preparation for referring the case to the Public Prosecutor to take the necessary legal measures.

Meanwhile, social media users in Jordan expressed deep outrage over this crime, demanding fair justice and deterrence of such acts to preserve community safety and security.
