Emirati artist Ahlam Al Shamsi expressed her immense happiness at taking part in the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts 2025, affirming during a press conference held in Amman ahead of her highly anticipated performance: "Any artist who hasn’t performed in Jerash is truly missing something important."

Speaking to the press, Ahlam said: "Jordan, the land of the Nashama, is very close to our hearts. Your customs, traditions, and dialect are familiar to us, and our songs are now being written especially for this generous audience." She added that the UAE has instilled in its people a deep love for Jordan, making her presence in Jerash a natural extension of a long-standing bond between the two nations.

A Special Honor and Deep Respect for the Hashemite Family

Ahlam also expressed her deep appreciation for the Hashemite royal family, proudly recalling the attendance of Queen Rania’s mother at her previous concert. She described the moment as both an honor and a responsibility.

She continued: "Being given the title ‘Queen’ carries many layers of meaning. When I stand on stage, I must live up to that title — it’s not just an honor, it’s a motivation. My journey with my audience is ongoing and knows no limits."

Debuting New Songs and Honoring Jordanian Poetry

In a touching tribute to Jordanian talent, Ahlam promised poet Shawq Taymour that she would perform one of her poems dedicated to Jordan. "You and I have a promise — we’ll meet, and I’ll take some of your poetry for Jordan," she said.

Ahlam also revealed her plan to debut new songs during her performance at Jerash, in addition to fulfilling audience requests through a poll she conducted to select some of her classic tracks from her archive.

"The audience plays an equally important role in my song choices as they do in their presence at the concert," she noted. "I feel like one of them when I perform, and I closely follow their preferences."

Supporting Young Talents and a Message from the Heart

Stressing the importance of supporting young artists, Ahlam stated: "I call for a dedicated night at Jerash for emerging talents — they possess incredible energy and need the platform to introduce themselves to the world." She shared that she has already produced several albums that featured and supported young composers and poets from across the Arab world, adding, “Jordan is one of the Arab countries that genuinely supports talent.”

In response to a question about the role of maestro Walid Fayed, Ahlam praised his refined artistic taste and professionalism, crediting him for providing her with artistic energy and support during performances.

A Message of Love and a Memorable Audience

To close the press conference, Ahlam spoke about her approach to health and lifestyle: "I’m an active person and love walking, even if I don’t follow all the healthy habits. I live a balanced life and enjoy it," she said.

She concluded with heartfelt words: "Jerash is not just a festival — it’s a cultural memory for the Arab world. God willing, we will always meet on the grounds of love and refined art."
